Welcome to The Crescent Secondary School's Website

The Crescent School for Science, Sports and Technology

The Crescent School is applying to the Department for Education to open a  Secondary School close to the existing Primary School. It will particularly focus on Science, Sports and Technology and will be a high achieving and creative school serving 11-18 year olds in North Croydon and beyond, providing a very different educational offer to established schools in the area and specifically meeting the needs of the local community.

The school will provide 150 places in each year group for 11-16 year olds, primarily – though not exclusively – to meet the needs of the pupils of the new primary schools, The Crescent and Chestnut Park. The admissions arrangements for the school will specify these as named feeder schools, however the expectation is that the school will serve a much wider section of the community.

The school will offer 200-250 places in sixth form, to serve the identified growing demand and to provide a unique offer designed to meet the needs of the young people in North Croydon.

The school will build on the success of The Crescent Primary School and will  work in partnership with the most well-known success stories in the local area, Crystal Palace FC Foundation and The BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology. The school will also benefit from the support of GLF Schools, an established, successful multi-academy trust which has opened the new Chestnut Park Primary school in North Croydon and has a track record of outstanding secondary provision.

This part of South London has waited a long time for an outstanding secondary school and we believe this unique set of local partners will be able to fill this gap with an innovative curriculum that will break the conventional mould of new secondary schools in the area.
